POWERflex+ Impact Absorption System

POWERflex+ technology uses PORON 4000 cellular urethane to protect the heel and ball of the foot by providing superior cushioning and shock absorption at the point of heel impact. This reduces foot, leg and lower back fatigue. PORON 4000 retains its original shape and cushioning characteristics for the life of the shoe.
POWERflex+ Impact Absorption System with dual PORON 4000 POWERflex+ utilizes the unique cell structure of PORON 4000 cellular urethane which offers exceptional energy absorption to protect the heel and ball of the foot. PORON 4000 maintains its integrity, ensuring superior cushioning and shock absorption so important for the reduction of foot, leg and lower back fatigue.

PORON Offers Unmatched Shock Protection

The following bar chart depicts the impact absorption properties of PORON compared with other cushioning material. This test was developed by SATRA, a well recognised independent testing authority for the footwear industry, to provide a comparative measure of the shock absorbing characteristics of various materials. The results clearly show that PORON out performs all other cushioning materials available by not only absorbing shock but continuing to do so even under rigorous and repeated impacts.

Lower "g" Value Means Better Performance

In these tests, an accelerometer is attached to a drop weight on a specially designed test device. This measures peak deceleration (expressed in "g's") at impact against various insole cushioning materials. The "g" reading indicates how quickly the weight is slowed down when it impacts against the material. This "g" value is directly related to the impact force and offers an accurate measure of the shock reduction capability of the material being tested. The lower the "g" value, the greater the shock reduction.

PORON 4000 outperformed all of the cushion materials tested, both before and after compression set.
